When you’re thinking about making money online, the first thing you really need to understand is exactly what the online presence is.

I see this mistake so many times, people often join up to different opportunities and either promote a company branded site (massive NO NO!!) and then go out and buy a ton of leads, or waste a load of hard cash on google adwords, again these are a big NO NO!! Certainly in the beginning anyway.

The only sure way to become successful at any opportunity is to build your own Online Presence. There is a very good reason for this, and quite an obvious one at that.

Here is what happens when people do a search to make money online. The basically filter through the process of seeing all the different affiliate programms and opportunities, once they look at a particular opportunity they then start to look at who is who within that opportunity… why? Because people buy from people NOT business’s.

So here is the scenario, you are promoting a company replicated site hoping to earn your fortune on the Internet, but have no “Online Presence” those prospects you managed to drive to that site will only see the leader or upline and join those people…. why? Because it was thier face they saw and not yours. If someone googles your name and cannot find any information about you what so ever, then they simply will not buy from you.

So how do you go about building an Online Presence?

1. To begin with, there are some fantastic article sites to join up with, this will also serve as part of your online marketing strategy. Here is the key though, when you sign up for the article sites, use your correct name & when you fill in the author bio, put your name in it a few times. The reason for this is because google crawl these high trafficked sites for information, and if you have your profile set up properly, you will get on the first and second page of google for your selected keywords (Your Name).

This technique is amazingly powerful for two reasons, as shown in the screen shot, I am indexed 3 times from the different article site profiles, these are on either page 1 or 2 of google and stay there. The second reason it is powerful, is that if you then write great articles you become an authority in your particular “niche”.

When people do a search on your name and you have used this technique, not only will they see you all over google and the other search engines, but, they will also be able to read your content that you have written in those articles directories too… now that is powerful.

2. Get signed up for the major video distribution sites like youtube, and get your face out there, don’t just spam the hell out the business you are promoting, give some real value to people, remember people buy from people. Yes most certainly talk about your opportunity, or introduce yourself as someone from a opportunity, then give out that great value, not just buy from me… sorry guys and gals it just does not work, although over 90% of people do that.

For this reason you MUST stand out from the crowd, it isn’t really a matter of who shouts the loudest, but more to the point who has the most important and most educational things to say, that is what attracts people, don’t forget there are a lot of struggling marketers out there just looking a good mentor to help them.

Building a strong Online Presence does take a little hard work, it will not happen over night, those of you who think it will will be in for a shock as will those who believe it is not really that important. In my early days I never bothered at all simply because I thought google adwords was the way to go, how wrong was I, and, a very costly mistake… yes I had many opt ins, but the conversions were less than 2% which was extremely poor, considering that after building a strong online presence they rocketed to over 68% conversion… I think the proof speaks for itself.

Once the Online presence is in place then and only then begin to take your marketing to the next level and pay for some of it, google adwords is a very good way of getting targeted traffic, but make sure people can find you in a google search when they are looking for you.
